Matchup: Creighton v. DePaul

Creighton opens its season at home Friday against DePaul. The Blue Demons pose some matchup problems for the Bluejays with three centers over 6'10,'' including a 7'2'' Freshman. DePaul finished last season 20-14 in a powerful Big East conference.

The Bluejays defeated EA Sports in an exhibition match last week, scoring 88 points. The team is youthful and inexperienced, but has potential to breakout under the radar. The new players this season are led by P'Allen Stinnett, a promising guard.

The great thing about coach Altman is that he stresses defense and rebounding. He is well aware that the offense will be there, but the young Creighton team must focus on the more difficult parts of the game, especially when playing against a bigger foe.

The key to this game will be Josh Dotzler. If Dotzler can come in and be an effective leader in this game, he can lead them to their first victory. They need his presence and defense on the court to make things run smoother.
