Over Labor Day, Creighton made their way up to Canada to play five exhibition games in three days. The Jays went 5-0 defeating Calgary in the final game, who had upset Weber State on Sunday. Weber State was the only other team from the United States in the tournament.
It's hard to pinpoint the talent level of these Canadian teams because I didn't actually get to watch them play. I've only read articles on the performances. No matter, the young Bluejay team seemed to play well with a plethora of players stepping up in each game. Creighton averaged 89.8 per game during their five-game stretch.
Josh Dotzler had an outstanding 19 assists to complement his 14 steals. Senior Dane Watts averaged 16 points per contest and 6.4 rebounds.
