Creighton v. Illinois State - Conference Opener

Creighton opens conference play today by hosting the 8-3 Illinois State Redbirds. The Jays come into the game tonight posting a 9-1 record. Creighton looks just as good, if not better, than any
Valley team up to this point.

Illinois State has started their season off strong. All three of their losses were away games, including a 13-point loss to then no. 8 Indiana. Their other two losses were Kent State and Eastern Michigan. One player to watch out for on the Redbirds squad is Osiris Eldridge. He was the Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year last season and averages 16 ppg. Illinois State is coached by Tim Jankovich. This is his first season as head coach for the Redbirds.

The Bluejays should continue their solid play and get a win tonight, though it may not be by much. The games are going to start getting much tougher for the younger players, so we'll have to see who steps up.
