Earlier this week, Creighton blasted Houston Baptist at the Qwest Center, 110-73. Tonight, the Jays host North Carolina Central, who bring a 1-10 record to Omaha. Hopefully this game is another blowout, but Creighton needs to stay very focused in their next two games.
A loss in either of the next two games (or even a close game) would more than likely destroy the Bluejays chances of making the NCAA tournament at the end of the season. With a weak non-conference schedule under their belt, Creighton needs to win fashionably to get an edge in the post-season. Of course, this could all be trumped by winning the MVC tournament, but you don't want to have to depend on that.
Creighton has started off strong with a young team that will be very solid by the end of the season. They just need to stay focused and keep doing the little things. The rest will come.
