It only took one week for the Creighton Bluejays to implode. It started with a loss to Evansville, which should have never happened. The Jays had control of the game until the last few minutes when Evansville crept back on an unbelievable shooting night from the free throw line. That's no excuse. Creighton should have never lost that basketball game to a bottom-of-the-league team that was missing their best player.
It continued with an absolute beat down against Bradley. The Braves destroyed Creighton the entire game. At half, Bradley was up 20-points. The Jays looked completely lost on the defensive end of the court.
It's called a reality check. You have to be proud of what the Jays have accomplished this season, even though you know they are a much better team than what is often shown on the court. Now the Bluejays need to glue things together to find a way into the post season. Don't think they're guaranteed a spot in the NIT, either. They'll have to earn their way there. Of course, they still have a shot at the Big Dance if they win the conference tournament. That all depends on which team shows up that weekend.
