I didn't have an opportunity to watch the game on Wednesday due to the tragic event that took place at the Westroads on Wednesday. Creighton seemed to be in the game for most of the first half until Lavender went nuts and led the Musketeers on a 14-2 run. He ended up with 28 points and 10 assists.
Josh Dotzler had a terrific game, at least stat-wise. He led the team in rebounds, scored 8 and added a few more steals to his resume. That was great to hear. The thing that surprised me the most was the minutes played by Dane Watts. Again, I didn't see the game, so I can only speculate, but it seems that Watts should have played more. He only had three fouls at the end of the game, so I see no reason that he couldn't have played over 30 minutes, unless he was struggling somehow. Watts is a leader and probably the toughest player on the team. Hopefully coach Altman speaks about this in his weekly interview with Matt Perrault on The Big Show.
It will be nice to see if the Jays can rebound off of this loss when they play St. Joseph's on Sunday. I hope that our community can pull together an root on the Jays in this difficult week and hopefully get their minds on something positive for at least a few hours. My prayers go out to the victims and their families.
