Do you hear that clicking noise? It's Creighton finally coming together and giving themselves a chance to compete in the Mo Valley. I know it was Evansville, but there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
First and foremost is the play by P'Allen. He's finally starting to play like a star (a star within the Creighton system that is). Just watching all of his assists last games gave me goosebumps. It adds such a dynamic to the offense.
Also, as I forecasted, Altman has been giving more playing time to Walker and Lawson. This was much needed. It gives Watts an opportunity to play the 4, which he is more comfortable with, and takes a lot of the weight off his shoulders to control the game down low by himself.
Lastly, the defense is getting better. Dotzler has been awesome with his steals, but he has also been getting smoked by guards that are much quicker than him. However, the key is that he and the rest of the defense are getting better.
A game against Wichita State (8-7, 1-3) on Saturday should tell us how far they've come. The game starts at 7:05 and can be seen on Channel 2 in Omaha.
