Valley wins not coming easy

The Jays survived against Missouri State on Saturday to come up with their first Valley win this season. It was a battle down to the last second when Missouri State threw up a shot for the win and missed. It doesn't appear that things are going to get much easier in the Missouri Valley Conference. Winning this game should give Creighton some confidence and hopefully spark a winning streak, but the battle for the Valley has only just begun.

I have to say that P'Allen Stinnet was marvelous in the Bluejay victory. I am not saying this because he scored a lot of points, but because of how he played. He played like a member of a team and took better shots. He needs to be on the court if the Jays are to make a run in the Valley, but they won't win if he's out of control or collects cheap fouls.

It was awesome to see Lawson start. I know he's young (and it Chad Millard was nursing a sprained ankle), but look how much different of a team Creighton can be with Watts back in the 4 spot. It's a nice dynamic to the team that hasn't been utilized enough in conference play. I could almost guarantee you that Altman will be playing both Lawson and Walker much more from here on out.
